AS Roma: Pidgin English, the Lingua Franca of Africa ?

AS Roma: Pidgin English, the new Lingua Franca of Africa?

Culture is the total living pattern of a given social group. Culture encompasses other constituent parts that make up the whole. Things like food, fashion, music, and most importantly language make up the conglomeration of people's way of life (Culture)

The Pidgin English language which is an adulterated version of English language has been generally used in everyday interactions in the country.  The language is spoken  by different tribes in the country and even the continent of Africa.

The Language has its headquarters in the Niger Delta Area of Warri in Nigeria, the language has helped simplify conversations between people of various tribes in the country.

Nigerians with the use of Pidgin English language have continued to live in harmony even in the face of the existing ethnic and religious conflicts going on in the West African region.

The language which is looking like the new Lingua Franca of Africa has a unique way of blending different languages into its vocabulary.

Nigerian Pidgin English has a way of unifying different tribes, its general composition encourages unity in our diversities.

The language has been adopted by various organizations and groups in the country, the language has found its way in the places never imagined, we now have international news agencies creating a pidgin arm to run alongside the English official arm. Names like BBC, CNN, come to mind.
Recently , AS Roma adopted the language in its digital communications, the club which has a very strong love for Nigeria and the African continent in general has taken a right step in the right direction once more with the adoption of  pidgin English as one of its official languages of communication on its official Twitter page.

This is a confirmation that Nigeria controls the African market and pidgin English is the fuel driving this market.  Nigerian comedians are paid a fortune to perform jokes in the language both home and abroad. The language has a creative side as new words continue to flood the Language dictionary every blessed day.

Based on who I be and based on wetin I don see o!! The language has potentials to dominate the global language space for a long time. No bi jonzing my guy!! Little wonder Prince Charles during his visit couldn’t go back without speaking the language in its headquarters.

Nigeria with its population has become a major influence with the use of the language. Little wonder Nigerian music, arts and theater has permeated the whole continent. It’s a Davido, Burnaboy and Wizkid show! Nigeria is currently shaping the culture of Africa with the use of the  Pidgin English language.

The country and by extension the whole continent can leverage on this sudden prominence of the language coupled with the country's teaming population to build a formidable development strategy that will surpass what the Chinese are currently doing.  But the problem with this, is the lack of Intellectual sagacity on the part of African  governments.  Its funny how the whole world is appreciating this creative Innovation of the English language and down here many of us think its improper to speak pidgin as its vernacular, allow me ask, what is the definition of vernacular? And what yardstick was used in arriving at its labelling??

The truth is that most times people don’t understand and cherish what they have, outsiders see the prospective part of us most times, the country which is blessed with rich natural and abundant human resources has chosen to remain perpetuatally underdeveloped. The leadership in the continent, many say is responsible for this, other say it’s the quality of followership and the general mentality of the people.

Whatever the case might be, I don disappear, Make we reason another time.  Before I commot, I don turn Roma fans like this o!!! Lass Lass everywhere go ROMAnce!!! Everything go still ROMAntic! No think am my brother!
